The Average Cost Of A Thanksgiving Meal In Arizona Is Up This Year
According to the Arizona Farm Bureau, a family Thanksgiving meal will be a bit more expensive this year. The bureau’s annual survey shows a 10% increase in cost over 2019.
But bureau spokeswoman Julie Murphree says it’s not all bad news.
“We did have three items that were down. The pumpkin pie mix, pie shells and the sweet potatoes were down," said Murphree. "But this year has been so odd that I certainly wouldn’t be surprised if some of the things occurring with the pandemic and supplies and stuff might have impacted it.”
A turkey dinner with all the trimmings will cost about $47.02 for an Arizona family of 10. Last year’s meal was about $4 cheaper.
This is the second year in a row prices were up. In 2019, there was about a 9% increase in cost year over year.
