Investigation: Arizonans With Developmental Disabilities Still Struggle To Get Services

The challenges for Arizonans with developmental disabilities to receive proper services have only grown over the past decade or so.

The Great Recession led many states to dramatically cut budgets and reprioritize.

Arizona was an early leader, a pioneer even, when it came to cost-effective and conservative services. But a new series reported by Amy Silverman in a collaboration with the Arizona Daily Star and ProPublica has revealed a significant change.

The Show spoke with Silverman for more about what she’s learned.
