Professor: Arizona Is Moving Left, And SB 1070 Was The Turning Point
Arizona is among several states categorized as "battlegrounds," where the outcome of the presidential race is considered to be uncertain.
Going by the color coding so common in electoral politics, Arizona was a red state for decades but is purple now. Democrats are hoping to turn it blue by having Joe Biden win the presidential race and Mark Kelly defeat incumbent Martha McSally in the U.S. Senate competition.
A recent New York Times op-ed expressed the view that Arizona is, indeed, going to turn blue in a couple of months. That piece was written by Northwestern University Professor Geraldo Cadava, a Tucson native.
The Show spoke with Cadava about the factors contributing to Arizona's shifting political landscape.
