Gallego: Trump's Love Of Putin 'Causing Really Bad Decisions From This White House'
U.S. House Democrats on Tuesday morning were briefed at the White House about reports Russia possibly offered bounties to militants in Afghanistan to kill U.S. soldiers.
Rep. Ruben Gallego attended the briefing and said after it that President Trump’s love of Vladimir Putin is making it difficult for people who inform the commander in chief to keep him up to date on Russian activity.
“The president is only getting the information that he thinks is favorable to him,” said Gallego. “I think at the same time it’s also causing really bad decisions from this White House.”
Putin has denied the allegations, and Trump has said he and Vice President Pence were not briefed on such intelligence, despite widespread media reports to the contrary.
In a tearful interview on a liberal media outlet last weekend, Gallego, an Iraq War veteran and current member of the U.S. House Armed Services Committee, apologized to troops and referenced Trump, saying, “I’m so sorry this man is your president.”
