Former Arizona Attorney General Grant Woods has condemned President Donald Trump for comments he made about a badly injured Buffalo protester. The 75-year-old protester was hospitalized after police shoved him to the ground

Woods said cellphone phone videos have shed a light on police behavior that is difficult to ignore.

“I grew up here in Arizona, I grew up in Mesa, and I never saw it. But I’m seeing it now, and like all the rest of my fellow Americans, we’re going to stand up and say this can’t happen, it’s gotta stop,” Woods said.

The president has taken a hard line against demonstrations across the country following the death of George Floyd. Trump suggested the Buffalo man’s fall was staged. The video shows the protester bleeding from the head as officers walk away.

Two of the officers have been charged with assault.
