'Heartbreaking': Arizona Nonprofits Project Revenue Losses Approaching $30 Million
The economic fallout of the coronavirus pandemic is projected to hit nonprofit businesses hard.
Kristen Merrifield, CEO at the Alliance of Arizona Nonprofits, said the impact in the state will be devastating.
“Our nonprofits are estimating a total loss of reported revenue of nearly $30 million. For a sector that is the fifth-largest non-government employer here in Arizona that employs 165,000 Arizonans that is staggering,” Merrifield said.
Merrifield also said the impact is doubly damaging because an economic fall-off also severely affects the people those nonprofits serve.
