Treasury Secretary Steve Mnuchin announced that the Trump administration is moving back the deadline to file your federal taxes.

Gov. Doug Ducey later announced that Arizona would follow suit.

That means Arizonans won't have to file their taxes until July 15, as opposed to the earlier April 15 deadline.

Payment deadlines for some individual and business returns were also pushed back earlier this week.

Officials said the move will help those impacted by the coronavirus.

“These are important steps to get help to Arizonans out of work and struggling to make ends meet because of COVID-19," Ducey said in a statement. "These are just some steps out of many we will continue to take to support Arizonans in need during this time — and Arizona will get through this together.”

More than 1.7 million individual income tax returns have already been filed in Arizona ahead of the April 15 deadline.
