There won’t be a live audience, but there will still be a Democratic presidential debate in Phoenix on Sunday.

Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders’ campaign said the event is crucial.

A week after discouraging losses in multiple states on Super Tuesday, Sanders again lagged behind former Vice President Joe Biden in four more states.

Despite Biden’s growing lead in the delegate count, Sanders announced Wednesday that he’ll stay in the race and that he looks forward to Sunday’s debate.

Sarah Michelson, the Arizona state director for the Sanders campaign, said the debate will help educate voters in Arizona and elsewhere about the candidates’ policy differences.

“So many people have not gotten that chance to vote yet, Arizonans have not had their chance to have their say, and we need to allow people to participate in a discussion of the issues and vote before we make any final decisions here," Michelson said.

Arizona Democrats head to the polls to choose their preferred candidate on Tuesday.
