JPMorgan Chase last year agreed to pay six employees $24 million to settle a lawsuit alleging racial discrimination. The suit claimed the discrimination against African-American financial advisers was “uniform and national in scope.”

But, the New York Times has uncovered the story of another adviser in the Phoenix area who claims he was the victim of discrimination. The story also involves a potential customer who appears to have been a victim.

Jimmy Kennedy played for nine seasons in the NFL, and tried, unsuccessfully as it turns out, to sign up for premium banking services at JPMorgan here.

Emily Flitter covers banks and Wall Street for the Times, and she wrote the story. She spoke with our co-host Mark Brodie.
