Arizona’s congressional delegation is expressing mixed reactions to President Trump’s announcement of a U.S. military operation that led to the death of ISIS leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi.

Republican Rep. Andy Biggs said the mission was symbolically important for the country.

“I thought it was a successful day for the United States of America. When Osama Bin Laden was captured and killed, there was a treasure trove of information and maybe there’s some more information to be had here as well,” he said.

But Democratic Rep. Rueben Gallego said the president’s decision to withhold information until the mission was completed shows he was more interested in a political moment for his personal benefit.

“George Bush Jr., Bill Clinton, Barack Obama always updated the top heads of the parties whether it was Democrat or Republican to make sure they had updated information,” Gallego said.

Trump reported that al-Baghdadi died when he detonated a suicide vest after being backed into a tunnel by U.S. forces.
