How we use nuclear energy has been a controversial topic for years. Iran's potential to create a nuclear bomb led to years of sanctions. The aftermath of the damaged Fukushima Daiichi plant in Japan could take decades to clean up.
But is increased nuclear energy a good option for the U.S. to consider in an attempt to get away from a reliance on fossil fuels?
Thursday at noon on ASU's Tempe campus, the Global Institute of Sustainability will host a panel called "The Future Of Nukes: Pandora's Promise Or Peril."
One of the participants is Jennifer Richter, visiting assistant professor at ASU's School of Social Transformation and Consortium of Science, Policy and Outcomes.
