Phoenix voters soundly defeated Proposition 105, which sought to end the expansion of light rail in Phoenix in the Aug. 27 special election, largely thanks to neighborhoods where light rail already exists.

An analysis of the vote by the Arizona Mirror found that the south Phoenix area where the campaign originally began supported the effort, but the rest of the city stood opposed to Prop. 105.

Consider downtown Phoenix where the central light rail hub is located — less than 13% of voters in that area supported Prop. 105.
