The Show regularly checks in with Editorial Board of the Arizona Republic to talk about the big issues facing the state and the region — featured in the newspaper’s Viewpoints section.

The Democratic presidential candidates engaged in a pair of debates last week, as the early process continues to chisel down to a smaller number to determine who will face off against President Donald Trump in 2020.

Only two Democratic nominees since World War II have won Arizona in the general election — Harry Truman and Bill Clinton. In a column published over the weekend in the Republic, former Arizona Democratic gubernatorial nominee Fred DuVal weighed in on what a Democrat would have to do to win in Arizona.

Phil Boas, editorial director of the Arizona Republic, joined The Show for his weekly appearance to talk about that.
