Stapley is the founder and CEO of MJ Hybrid Solutions and an instructor in Gateway Community College’s cannabis business program. The Show spoke with her about how the cannabis industry here is growing up.

The Arizona Department of Education’s Ready for School Task Force is bringing together a diverse group of educators to get students back to school on the right foot next year. Bill Lucas serves on that task force. He’s a school counselor at Agua Fria High School in Avondale where he said he had to adapt fast as everything changed overnight last spring.

In October of last year, Phoenix Police arrested 17 protesters and identified the individuals as having gang affiliations, which allows prosecutors to level harsher charges and penalties than if they were regarded as simply unwieldy demonstrators. But, the protesters argued that they are not gang members on par with Bloods, Crips or biker gangs — that they are simply brought together in support of a cause.
