Scientists say their ability to do more work in that area will likely mean better climate change models for other parts of the globe, including the Sonoran Desert. The latest statistics on hate crimes indicate a positive direction as Arizona’s numbers, according to the FBI, are at their lowest in five years. The 2018 figures were down 39% from 2017. But there are concerns that the numbers are inaccurate since victims may be afraid of actually reporting a hate crime — or they may not view an incident that way.
