Art Detour — the longest running arts festival in downtown Phoenix — kicked off their six-day celebration last night… and this year’s events are a little extra special. The interactive art walk is turning 30.

Downtown Phoenix has become known for its arts scene over the last 30 years. But, back then, the area didn’t look quite like it does now. “Raw” is one word Catrina Kahler used to describe it. She’s the president of Artlink, which organizes Art Detour.

The Show's Lauren Gilger sat down with her earlier this morning to talk more about 30 years of Phoenix art, how the arts community has shaped downtown Phoenix and how it will be affected by its exponential growth.
