One year in, and the Trump administration is fighting some of the same battles it waged when first taking office, especially when it comes to immigration, border security and trade agreements.

Among the most pressing issues are what do with millions of undocumented residents living in the U.S. and hundreds of thousands of DACA recipients here through no fault of their own, brought here as children.

In his State of the Union address, some accused President Trump of conflating a path to citizenship for so-called dreamers with protecting the nation from violence.

“My duty, and the sacred duty of every elected official in this chamber is to defend Americans, to protect their safety, their families, their communities and their right to the American dream.” Trump said. He continued, “Americans are dreamers too."

Joining me know to discuss that and other issues pertinent to our region is the White House’s Director of Media Affairs Helen Aguirre Ferre, one of the few Hispanic officials in the Trump administration.
