Gene therapy involves changing the DNA of a patient in order to help cure a disease. High-level research related to gene therapy has been going on for a couple of decades.

Two of the therapies are intended to treat cancer, while the third is related to congenital blindness.
Mike White is assistant professor of genetics at Washington University in St. Louis.
