The Navajo Nation has run out of early ballots for tribal races in some areas.

Tribal members can walk in to their precinct and vote early for tribal president, lawmakers and other offices. But, a tribal election official said at least three locations have run out of ballots, including Fort Defiance in northeastern Arizona and Shiprock in northwestern New Mexico.

The official said the precincts typically get hundreds of ballots each for early voting. But he said the tribe only received a partial shipment, allowing for 20 at each of the 110 precincts. He said more will be delivered by Friday. Walk-in voting ends Oct. 31.
