The Surprise City Council on Tuesday is poised to vote for even more bonds to help fund public safety and city projects. Voters rejected a $63 million bond in last year’s general election. The money would have gone to a recreation complex, and public safety and roadwork projects.

The City Council last June voted against a property-tax increase and approved the bond instead. 

Now, Surprise voters could decide on three separate bonds to raise property taxes.

A $34 million bond would go to building a new public-safety evidence center, two new fire stations and a police training facility.

The second bond proposal at $15 million would help improve Waddell, Greenway and Litchfield roads.

A final $10 million bond would go to fix street pavement citywide.

If approved, property taxes would increase per each bond in order listed, per $100,000 valued property: $26, $12 and $8.
