When Cori Runyon was asked to do a social justice project as part of a mentorship program at her yoga studio, she decided to fix something that doesn’t get a lot of attention normally: How do homeless women afford to get feminine hygiene products once a month?

So, she and her partner built a pantry. They put it outside of a local social services agency in south Tucson and filled it with donated toiletries for anyone who needs them.

She says she knows what it’s like to not be able to afford the basics, and she wanted to help.

Well, the idea seems to have caught on. A GoFundMe page she started to raise money to stock the pantry has raised almost $1,500, and she’s received an outpouring of support for the project, she said.
