Legislation aimed at expanding Arizona’s Empowerment Scholarship Account system, less formally known as private-school vouchers, has been making its way through the Legislature.

Bills in both the state House and Senate are awaiting votes before their full chambers.

Supporters of the bills say they'll save taxpayers money, but a new report from the Joint Legislative Budget Committee says they'd actually cost the state more.
