New numbers from the group Polaris show more than 5,100 cases of human trafficking came in to its texting helpline and the National Human Trafficking Resource Center hotline nationwide last year.

The majority of those cases involved sex trafficking. For a look at Arizona’s numbers, we turn to Jenna Novak, program specialist with the National Human Trafficking Resource Center, which is run by Polaris.
