Globally, research estimates that several million people are currently in situations in which they’re being forced into sexual trafficking situations. And conventional wisdom says that type of exploitation increases around major sporting events.

With the Super Bowl in the Valley approaching in a little more than a week, Richard Ruelas of The Arizona Republic and AZ Central wrote about it for last Sunday’s edition.

I started by asking him whether the premise that there’s more sex trafficking related to the big game is accurate.
