Study: Female Candidates And Politicians Face More Negative Scrutiny Than Men

There are now more than 20 official Democratic candidates in the 2020 race to challenge President Donald Trump. Several of them are prominent women who are currently serving in the U.S. Senate.

But a recent media review put together by Northeastern University has determined that those female candidates have received more negative coverage than their male opponents.

That conclusion — in combination with what many construed as especially tough coverage of 2016 nominee Hillary Clinton — has some wondering what’s going on.

Samara Klar, associate professor of political science at the University of Arizona, spoke about with The Show.
