Federal prosecutors have decided not to retry a bribery case against a former Arizona Corporation Commission commissioner, his wife, a lobbyist and the owner of a utility company.
That’s after jurors in the case told the judge last month they could not reach a verdict in the initial trial.
The trial of Gary Pierce ended in a mistrial after jurors deadlocked on charges that he accepted $31,000 in bribes from a water company owner in exchange for favorable regulatory decisions.
A mistrial also was declared for Pierce's wife, Sherry, water company owner George Johnson and lobbyist Jim Norton.
Ryan Randazzo with the Arizona Republic joined The Show to talk about it.
