The Arizona National Guard says it has gotten federal funding to deploy up to 440 soldiers along the state’s southern border, as part of Operation Guardian Support.

More than 230 of them are working with Customs and Border Protection while the rest are working in aviation areas.

Major General Michael McGuire, adjutant general for Arizona and director of the state Department of Emergency and Military Affairs, joined The Show to discuss their mission.
