Arizona Gov. Doug Ducey addresses media at a press conference on April 12, 2018, announcing his education funding plan.

Arizona Gov. Doug Ducey unveiled a proposal yesterday to give Arizona teachers a 20 percent pay raise by the 2020-21 school year. This comes after teachers staged a walk-in on Wednesday, and there’s been increased talk of a walk-out.

As we often hear, the devil is in the details, and many Arizona teachers would like to know more about those details before they commit to supporting Ducey’s pay increase proposal.

One of those teachers is Joshua Buckley of Red Mountain High School and president of the Mesa Education Association.

Another group that’s been out front on the issue of teacher pay is Save Our Schools Arizona. Spokeswoman Dawn Penich-Thacker joined The Show to talk about the issue.
