On Tuesday, two clean energy candidates were elected to the board of the Salt River Project (SRP), the municipal water and power utility that serves more than 1 million Arizonans.

It’s another step towards a renewable agenda for the utility. Two additional clean energy candidates were elected to the board two years ago.

Now four of the 14 members of the board have pledged to push for solar, wind and other renewable energy sources.

Ryan Randazzo, who covers utilities for the Arizona Republic, talks about the election and the new board members.
