Diane Douglas Calls For New Funding Sources For Arizona Public Education

Superintendent of Public Instruction Diane Douglas gave her annual State of Education speech at the state Legislature Monday.

Usually a staunch opponent of tax hikes, she said with the teacher shortage in our state and pay the lowest in the nation, there’s no other choice.

But, despite the ongoing shortage, Douglas described the state of Arizona’s public school system as “improving.”
