Dr. Leah Sherman

In 2014, Leah Sherman got a call while she was at work that changed her life. The results of her biopsy were back, and she had breast cancer.

She was at work, though, at the Cancer Treatment Centers of America in Goodyear, where she is a naturopathic physician. The Show’s Lauren Gilger spoke with her more about what it was like to be the patient and not the doctor as she battled cancer.

Dr. Sherman has worked with cancer patients since 2009. At Cancer Treatment Centers for America, she works as part of the treatment team to provide mostly natural therapies to patients to help with the side effects that can come from treatments like chemotherapy.

Today, she’s been cancer free for 3 years. She got to throw out the first pitch at a recent Diamondbacks Game and was featured in the Phoenix Business Journal recently.

But, when I sat down with her recently, I wanted to know more about what it was like that day she was diagnosed and how her own treatment changed the way she approaches her work with patients.
