WaPo: Interior Secretary Zinke Calls For Shrinking At Least 4 National Monuments

Since April, when President Trump ordered a review of national monuments created since 1996 to end “egregious use of government power,” observers have been waiting for news on how Interior Secretary Ryan Zinke would approach these federal lands.

Juliet Eilperin, senior national affairs correspondent at the Washington Post, obtained a copy of Zinke’s memo, which has been in the Trump administration’s hands for month. It recommends modifying 10 national monuments, including shrinking the boundaries of at least four western sites.
