Many of us keep journals for personal reflection — as a way to consider what we’ve done or what we think we may do. But when is journaling especially effective?

To learn more, we spoke with Kyle Bourassa, graduate student in the Clinical Psychology program at the University of Arizona.

He is the lead author of a paper called "The Impact of Narrative Expressive Writing on Heart Rate, Heart Rate Variability and Blood Pressure Following Marital Separation."
