It’s all over at the state Capitol.

Lawmakers adjourned their 2017 session Wednesday evening, while it was still light outside, a number of members made sure to mention.

This morning, we’ll get some perspectives on the session, and the new laws that’ll take effect in 90 days.

Starting with Rep. Paul Boyer, a Republican from Phoenix.

Now for another perspective on the just-completed session, we turn to Rebecca Rios, Arizona House minority leader.

One of the last bills approved this session restores a two-year lifetime cap on cash assistance for needy families, the program is called TANF, which stands for Temporary Assistance to Needy Families.

Lawmakers cut it to one year last year. But that extra year comes with some stipulations. Sam Richard joins us now to talk about this. He’s the executive director of the Protecting Arizona’s Family Coalition.
