'Better than 50% Chance' Newly Passed Bill Leads To Lawsuit Against State By Cities

Cities and towns in Arizona would be required to ask their voters to increase sales taxes only in November of even-numbered years, under a bill approved by state lawmakers in the waning hours of the legislative session.

Right now, municipalities have more leeway in when to hold such elections.

The measure could set up another lawsuit between the state and its cities — and joining me to talk about that is Ken Strobeck, executive director of the League of Arizona Cities and Towns.
