"All the Light We Cannot See" by Anthony Doerr

Novelist Anthony Doerr won the Pulitzer Prize in 2015 for his World War II-set novel "All the Light We Cannot See."

Its key protagonists are a blind French girl and a German boy, and radio also plays an important role.

Doerr is in the Valley tonight at Mesa Arts Center for an event put together by Changing Hands Bookstore, as "All the Light We Cannot See" is released in paperback.

I recently spoke with Doerr, who was at his home in Idaho. We started the conversation by talking about whether it was odd for him to still be discussing a book that was published several years ago — and which took him ten years to finish.
