Phoenix-based Translational Genomics Research Institute (TGen) is looking at a way to quantify head traumas, like concussions. Using sensors inside football helmets, researchers are trying to identify biomarkers that could indicate an athlete has suffered a concussion.

With me to talk about this is Dr. Matt Huentelman, a professor of neurogenomics at TGEN, and one of the co-leads on this study. Huentelman explained what researchers were  trying to figure out with this data collection.
