Chandler Teen Wins Arizona Educational Foundation Essay Contest
The Arizona Educational Foundation recently held the Polly Rosenbaum Creative Writing Contest and asked high school students to imagine if they were the president of the United States.
Shruthi Shrinivasan, a senior at Hamilton High School in Chandler, won the 11th- and 12th-grade category with an essay titled “To Fix the Broken Clockwork.”
But she didn’t write about health care or immigration, or any of the hot-button issues debated on the news today.
I wanted to know more about Shrinivasan and why she wrote that essay.
EDITOR'S NOTE: This article has been modified to correct the name of the Arizona Educational Foundation.
