Sens. Kavanagh, Hobbs Discuss Racketeering Law Expansion

On a party-line vote of 17-13, the state Senate has approved legislation that would expand Arizona’s racketeering laws to include rioting.

If you’re involved in a protest that leads to rioting and property damage, the government may get the right to criminally prosecute and take the assets of everyone who helped organize the protest.

We spoke with Republican Sen. John Kavanagh, a supporter of the legislation, and Democratic Sen. Katie Hobbs, who is opposed.
