Indian Health Services Director Discusses Improvement In Diabetes-Related Kidney-Disease Stats

Native Americans are twice as likely to have diabetes as Whites. And diabetes is to blame for around two out of every three Native Americans with kidney failure.

Those stats both come from the federal Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

But a new report from the CDC says there’s some good news in this area.

With me to explain is Dr. Ann Bullock, director of the Indian Health Service’s Division of Diabetes Treatment and Prevention. There’s been some improvement in terms of diabetes-related kidney disease among Native Americans.
