The United State of Women summit wrapped up Tuesday in Washington, D.C. By invitation only, it brought nearly 5,000 women together to help make changes toward gender equality with panels talking about economic empowerment and educational opportunity, among other things.

“There is definitely a synergy that comes from just sharing a basic understanding of the journey,” said Guadalupe Municipal Court Presiding Judge Lilia Alvarez, one of six Arizona women who took part in the summit.
