Slate Story Calls Cancer Research Process Broken

Billions of dollars have been put into cancer research in the United States. Arizona has invested considerably in those and related fields.

But a recent story in Slate indicates that the process behind a lot of cancer research is broken because of a lack of reproducible studies and experiments from lab to lab. Daniel Engber, contributing editor for Slate, wrote the story and spoke about it.

Dr. Eric Knudsen, associate director for basic research at the University of Arizona Cancer Center, also explained the issue.
