Pop-up galleries and artists moving from site to site are becoming more common in the Valley.

Brothers Gabriel and Isaac Fortoul describe themselves as nomadic in the art realm. They came to Phoenix in 2002 from New Jersey. The attacks of 9/11 were the significant factor in pushing them to try something — and someplace — new. They stayed for a few years before leaving.

They returned with an exhibition in 2014 and are now using a gallery space at 815 North Central Avenue for their latest installation. It’s called Fortoul Brothers Phoenix. Gabriel Fortoul spoke about how the shows come about.
