The Hopi Language only became a written one in 1998. Now a language teacher on the Hopi Reservation has written a pair of children’s books, in both English and Hopi.

Anita Poleahla’s books are called “Celebrate My Hopi Corn” and “Celebrate my Hopi Toys.” She spoke about the books and her decision to write them in both languages.
