There are a lot of factors at work in Syria’s ongoing civil war, but scientists believe one of them is the worst drought in 900 years.

Kevin Anchukaitis, an Earth systems geographer, paleoclimatologist and dendroclimatologist at the University of Arizona is a co-author of a new report on this.
