You may remember that last week, we waded into the always contentious debate of yuppies vs. hipsters, and some of you actually responded to that segment. One response, in particular, caught our attention, for obvious public radio reasons.

"I moved to Phoenix about 2 and a half years ago. Since then, I’ve been waiting tables at a few restaurants around town, and I’m also the founder and editor-in-chief of an independent community literary magazine here in Phoenix, called 'Four Chambers,'" said 24-year-old Jake Friedman. "I went to a small liberal arts college on the east coast, where I studied philosophy and English, and for my philosophy thesis, I wrote a thesis on hipsters."

That’s right, an academic discussion of hipsters. Jake said he got interested in the subject, at least in part, because people were calling him a hipster, and he was not sure the title fit. And, for the record, he said he would like to be a yuppie and have the corresponding income.

Keep your comments coming, who knows, maybe you will end up on the radio. Email us at the [email protected].
