Google Fiber is one step closer to landing in the city of Tempe and bringing faster Internet service to the community.

The city council’s unanimous vote gives Google the access it requires to get the project going from an infrastructure standpoint.

There’s more to be done to make Google Fiber a reality here, but excitement has definitely been generated. We spoke with Steven Zylstra, president and CEO of the AZ Tech Council. He said it’s a big deal for a number of reasons.
