Sunday marks 25 years since the passage of the Americans with Disabilities Act.

The law prohibits discrimination against people with disabilities and requires new buildings to conform to accessibility standards, among other provisions.

We’re going to hear two perspectives on this anniversary — starting with Dot Nary. She advocated for the ADA leading up to its passage, and is now an assistant research professor at the Research and Training Center on Independent Living at the University of Kansas.

Phil Pangrazio is president and CEO of the Arizona Bridge to Independent Living. He suffered a severe spine injury more than 35 years ago. He said the ADA’s impact has been far-reaching.
