Conflict Surrounds Proposed Grand Canyon Development Project

The Grand Canyon is once again the focus of attention for a project with pretty clear dividing lines of conflict.

Forest officials are hearing from the public on requests for easements that, if approved, could lead to a major development in the tiny town of Tusayan — just outside of the Grand Canyon. There would be 3 million square feet of retail space put together by Stilo Development.

We talked with Kevin Dahl of the National Parks Conservation Association and Andy Jacobs of the Valley-based Policy Development Group, which is representing Stilo.
