The state’s largest utility — Arizona Public Service — has faced intense criticism from some circles over the past few months. Some of that is related to a revisited rate case from 2017 when more customers than expected found they were going to be paying higher bills.

But most of it revolves around the deaths of two APS customers, who had their power turned off in the midst of hot weather because they were behind on payments. Since then, the Corporation Commission has implemented a moratorium on the shutoff policy that will extend until October 15th.

In the meantime, APS is working on reassessing some of its own policies.

Executive Vice President of Operations Daniel Froetscher has been with APS for 39 years. He joined The Show to discuss what changes have been in the works at APS.
